Misappropriations

I have explored other territories, online territories, borderless territories. There, I encountered sculptures from all continents and all eras, scanned in three dimensions and made freely available by museums and individuals.

I collected a number of them that I assembled, mixed, intertwined. A dizzying and fascinating game! It’s an online exploration. A virtual odyssey through centuries, continents, and cultures.

I bring together characters who should never have met. I unite them in forced marriages, improbable duos. Face to face, they confront each other, size each other up, taunt each other, interlock and above all, speak to each other, silent conversations that we catch by looking at them.

These sculptures are part of an open and varied world. So I associated them with landscapes, objects, animals, shells, pieces of wood, etc. Everything mixes… Idols, academics, objects, anonymous works, constructions, “popular” pieces. I embed, I fit, I combine. I play with art history and the world around me.
