We are very pleased to invite you to the presentation of Guykayser’s latest digital creation.
Happy, first of all, because this was the result of an encounter between the artist and the people who live and work in the Gambetta district. For each of them, through the construction of a Miniment (an intimate and personal monument), the participants had to gradually reveal themselves through objects that usually bear silent witness to our private histories.
Happy because the stakes were manifold. We also needed other ways to showcase digital creation; to show how much the sensitivity of individuals can bring to a medium often considered cold, individualistic, and technoid. It was also important to defend the vision of an artist who looks at the city through a different lens, bringing coherence to all those moments shared with him in order to build the sensitive unity of everyday life.
This multimedia creation will be presented at Carré d’Art and will be the subject of an exhibition/installation at the library kiosk, accessible from June 3 to June 17, 2005.
